Mayor of Calzada de Calatrava and director of the XI Calzada de Calatrava International Film Festival, Gema García, has pointed out that the aim of the festival, as has been repeated year after year, is “to bring the film industry closer to all residents and lovers of the seventh art with the possibility of free training in different areas and subjects, participating in workshops and very enriching, interesting and complementary sessions”, also taught by “experts in the field, because we are privileged to have Wilfredy Rodríguez, Rosario Díaz and Tommy Llorens as teachers”.
Gema García stressed that “the training courses have been very well received in recent years, specifically since we decided to organise this type of parallel activities around the development of the festival, so we are still committed to free education, as it could not be otherwise”. Along the same lines, the director encouraged all those interested to “sign up and take advantage of these opportunities to learn the basic concepts of filmmaking, acquire skills to face the camera and also learn about real stories of the seventh art”. Participants will also have the opportunity to “receive training in how to turn an idea into a short film, which may seem like a simple process, but it is not”.
