The folk-cultural association Amigos de la Danza was founded in Calzada de Calatrava in 1987. Today it brings together more than 40 members of different ages, led by Raquel Relucio, and its repertoire has evolved from flamenco and sevillanas to Manchegan and local folklore, classical dance and zarzuela.
Over the years it has taken part in cultural programmes organised by the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha and the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real, performing in many towns across the region and at the town’s patron saint and local festivities. Several of its members have won first prize at the “Jóvenes Talentos” competition in Valdepeñas on two occasions.
In this special performance, before the screening, they will perform a fragment of the film La La Land. Free admission.
