Once again, with the arrival of autumn, our town becomes a meeting point for lovers of the seventh art. From 1 to 10 October, our town will be filled with film, culture and activities for everyone.
We are already celebrating the 13th edition of our Film Festival, a project that has grown and evolved over the years and that, edition after edition, surprises us with new proposals, content and activities…
During these ten days we will enjoy the feature film showcase that brings us productions recognised and awarded at festivals and/or film academies. There will also be room for national short films and, once again, for our section dedicated to shorts made in Castilla-La Mancha, supporting the talent and creativity of our land.
But our festival is much more than cinema. It is also music, education, tourism and participation. It is a gathering designed for all audiences which also has an essential ingredient: our neighbourhood associations and groups, who work throughout the year to make it possible for every edition to bring us new activities and new ways of approaching the world of cinema.
And, of course, this edition will have a very special honouree: J. A. Bayona, one of the great directors of contemporary Spanish cinema. A filmmaker capable of combining drama, emotion and great visual productions, recognised with numerous awards for films such as The Orphanage, The Impossible or Jurassic World, among others.
This edition also brings an important novelty that we announced last June: the collaboration agreement with Luarca, with which we launch the network of film towns, which we expect to grow with the collaboration of new towns. An initiative that will enrich our festival by taking our cinematic identity to these regions.
Because if cinema has something, it is that unique capacity to make us travel, to move us, to discover other stories and to look at the world through other eyes.
That is why we invite you to join us and enjoy this journey.
